Flying with the 18th Aggressor Squadron over Alaska has been a long lasting dream. In the summer of 2019 this dream became reality as I was invited to fly with this very squadron out of their homebase Eielson AFB, AK.
Collection with images showcasing the highlights of the roll out ceremony at the Lockheed Martin Plant in Fort Worth, TX and the First Aircraft Arrival at Leeuwarden Air Base.
During my F-16 flights in January 2019 I had the opportunity to take some images of KC-10 tankers before and after we took some fuel from them.
Images I took over two days while chasing a 323 TES F-35A over California. While waiting for the actual test event we have done some photo set up over the Pacific Ocean. After the mission was over we flew over the Sierra Nevada to the desert on our way home to Edwards Air Force Base. All the pictures are taken from an F-16BM of the 148th FS which was piloted by Lt Col Joost ‘Niki’ Luijsterburg. The F-35A was piloted by ‘Gladys’ on the first and ‘Smiley’ on the second day.
In January 2019 I spend two days at the famous Star Wars Canyon. Luckily quite a few aircraft passed the location during those days. Taking pictures at locations like these really excites me. Nearly as much as taking images from the back seat of a fighter jet.
Over the years I have worked with the team of Air Combat Europe and their Blackshape Primes numerous times for various projects. In 2018 our collaboration consisted of flying a photo mission for coverage in KIJK magazine and in support of tv show Het Perfecte Plaatje. Highlight though was the flight that I did with my girlfriend Marieke in the backseat of one of the Blackshape Prime’s!
Few images of my flight during exercise Clear Sky 2018 in Ukraine. Unfortunately the photo flight was cut short due to an inflight emergency. Nevertheless I got some images of the California ANG’s 144th FW.
Zeusch Aviation is a Netherlands based company which provides Medevac/ Organ transport, relay flights, grid mapping and charter flights. I was contracted in 2018 to provide this company with aerial images of their aircraft.
It was a 2.5 mile hike after a 25 mile dirt road deep inside the Sequoia National Forest to get to this spot. Subject of the day: Dutch F-35’s! One in Stealth and the other in Beast mode. It was amazing to see how maneuverable the F-35 is with heavy weapons mounted on its wings.
One of my favorite ground shoots. After a memorable low level photo shoot in the Sequoia National Forest I did a Sunrise shoot with the same Dutch F-35A on the following day. Edwards Air Force Base is a place that breaths magic and this morning was no other. Creating images like these is a true team effort. A team of 323 TES of The Royal Netherlands Air Force and the local Fire Brigade did everything to get me the killers hots that I was after.
